Day one

Babies are doing really well today. Everett and Emerson both were taken off the CPAP this morning and now none of the babies are receiving any assistance with their breathing. They started the gavage tubes this afternoon and have started the babies on formula/breastmilk through their tubes, which is wonderful that they are already to this stage the day after they are born. If the babies start to cue to feed we will also start breastfeeding, which is incredible and I can't wait. The sooner the babies eat and gain weight and regulate their temperature on their own, the sooner they will be home!!
They have now moved the babies into an overflow room where they can all be together, since they are not on any machines, except the incubators to keep them warm. This is another great sign of how well they are doing at this time.

I am very sore tonight and feel as if I've been run over by a truck. Thank goodness for pain medicine and all the help the nurses and Chris have given me. I can't wait to start feeling like myself again which will hopefully be soon.

We will try and post more pics tomorrow (the internet is slow here and it's hard to get the pics uploaded)
