Today the babies are 2 weeks old and doing well. Everett and Emerson are up to 5 nipple feeds a day and will hopefully advance to 6 tomorrow. The doctors increase the amount of feeds that they can take by mouth daily, if they take all their previous feeds. The babies only eat 8 times a day, so going up to 6 is great for them.
Emmett was at 6 feeds today, but he had blood in his stool today so they have now stopped his feeds and started him on antibiotics via IV. The doctor thinks that he may have a small infection in his intestines, and they want to be safe and treat him early. So it's a minor set back for him, but I know he will do well and hopefully be eating again by Thursday or Friday.
All three boys got circumcised yesterday and got their Hepatitis B shots, so they did not have a good day. Luckily all three were feeling much better today and their appetites seemed back to normal.
Daddy was holding Everett (left) and Emmett (right) and they were so cute together. Everett was smacking Emmett in the face and Emmett didn't even seem to mind. I guess the fighting has already begun.
Big Sister Katie came up and saw here brothers

Emmett was all swaddled up and comfy so she didn't get a pic with him
The babies are doing well learning how to eat from bottles, but they still prefer to breastfeed, which is great. Here is Daddy feeding Emerson his bottle
Nana is here visiting the babies

Big sister Mycayla even came up and held the babies

Britton came up and he was reading Emmett a story
The NICU uses a technique called swaddled bathing when they give the babies a bath. You undress the babies and then swaddle them in a receiving blanket and then put the blanket and all in the tub. The babies love it and sleep right through their baths. They only get mad when it's time to come out

and of course we have to add some pictures of Britton. He thought it would be a good idea to paint his face with his ice cream cone
